Bathroom Dream Meaning

Dream interpretation from 17 unique sources about Bathroom

A bathroom represents the consciousness of individuation and privacy.

It is the room where we get to shut the door and be with ourselves in total intimacy.

It is also a symbol of freeing ourselves of waste and toxins. Many dreams that feature a bathroom find us searching for one. Such a dream is about searching for the freedom to be our authentic self, often with the caveat of reaching that authenticity by releasing that which no longer serves us or is detrimental if we continue to hold on, such as resentment or other poisonous thoughts.

A bathroom inside a home connects with personal issues, whereas one that is more public is revealing information about your outside interactions.

A toilet is located in a bathroom. As such, it can relate to relieving yourself of the “shit” in your life that you no longer need. [1]

To dream that you are in the bathroom relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some sort of burdensome feelings and need to‘relieve yourself’. Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal; you need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically. To dream that you cannot find the bathroom signifies that you are having difficulties in releasing and expressing your emotions. You may also have overcommitted yourself and are neglecting your own needs. Plumbing problems in your dream bathroom may reflect trouble in processing your feelings. Do you feel swamped right now? Flooding in the bathroom suggests emotions that are both out of control and out of character. [2]
The very personal and private aspects of your life that you don’t share with anyone else.

The health and well-being of your body or consciousness, especially through cleansing-and-releasing of outdated, decaying, or self-defeating elements in your life.

A bathroom that’s messy or in disrepair can indicate a need for more attention to self-maintenance, or a need to clean out or reorganize your consciousness (thoughts, emotions, beliefs, judgments, etc.).

Interacting with someone in a restroom can represent a frank, straightforward interaction, or perhaps an awkward one about a personal matter.

Judging by all of the e-mail that I receive, dreaming about bathrooms seems to be common. They are most valuable in our daily life. In our dreams bathrooms may be equally valuable symbols. They suggest that there is a need for emotional and psychological cleansing. You may need to get rid of emotional and psychological baggage.

It is difficult to be carefree and happy when old issues keep bringing you down.

The bathroom is a good dream symbol. Consider all of the details in your dream. Make an effort to cleanse mind and spirit by putting useless thoughts and feeling behind you! See also: House [4]

For a young woman to dream of a bathroom, foretells that her inclinations trend too much toward light pleasures and frivolities. [5]

The bathroom in a dream is the place where you release emotions and information that have been processed over a period of time. Being in a public rest room where there are no stalls on the doors may signify frustration about getting enough privacy, or difficulties in letting go. [6]
