The evening as the “twilight of one’s life,” or taking a rest at the end of a day’s work, is often a sign of life lived with purpose and accomplishments (you may rest on your laurels).
The evening is, in part, a sign that you are reaching deeper layers of the unconscious. Less frequently, the image of being at the end of the day may also be expressing a painful loss. [1]
2- The evening can be a synonym for twilight and the boundaries of our conscious mind. There may be apparitions around of which we do not become aware until we start working with the unconscious.
3- Evening signifies old age and many years of Spiritual experience. [2]
(2) It may symbolize either death or restfulness and peace. Compare the words in the evening service of Compline: ‘the busy world is hushed’ and ‘the fever of life is over* (The Book of Common Prayer). [4]
To see stars shining out clear, denotes present distress, but brighter fortune is behind your trouble.
For lovers to walk in the evening, denotes separation by the death of one. [5]
A beginning (such as of a hidden process or period of unawareness).
A pause or period of relaxation.
An activity or mood that tends to occur in the evening.
